By: Greg PayneTwo things:
First, Tyronn Lue has reportedly rejected an offer to play for the Greek team Thessaloniki PAOK, according to SLAM Online.
Lue's name has so far not been connected with the Celtics this offseason, but needless to say, some of us would approve of such a signing if it were to happen.
Second, the NBA will soon put in place some strict guidelines regarding players and Twitter. Essentially, David Stern doesn't want any more tweeting while games are in session.
"Obviously, there is a happy medium between tweeting before the game and tweeting from our bench during the game," Stern said.
I'm in college and you know what this actually reminds me of? Texting in class. Professors HATE it. They literally mention it in the syllabi they distribute on the first day of classes. "Do not text! Don't even consult your cell phone in any way while class is in session".
Fortunately for us Celtics fans, Ray Allen is very professional about his Twitter account and when it's time to play, he believes the game should be the only thing on someone's mind. Via his Twitter (kind of ironic):
I don't think anybody should Twitter during a game. Where's your focus.
Halftime of a game is used for players to rest and figure out what they can do better in the second half. Not to be tweeting.
It's ok on your down time. When we are playn we are working.
Wow, my college professors would LOVE Ray Allen.
Bonus, "thing": Happy Labor Day, everyone. I hope the weather stays nice for you all today.

I would not count out Lue, or even Hudson for that matter. Not finding a taker for TA puts a squeeze on this roster.
I am guessing that nothing will happen until the preseason is over and Ainge can see what falls out of rosters. Maybe nothing better than a Lue will be out there but I think he will patient about this. He may even sign Hudson and try and make a trade at midseason later when TA's expiring contract looks a little more valuable
Yeah I agree. I'm nearly convinced we're looking at the final roster right now. But like you said, maybe something will happen once training camp and pre-season get under way.
TA's scenario absolutely puts a squeeze on things, like you said, but I read something earlier that reminded me of when Pierce went down in '06-'07 and Allen stepped in and was averaging about 20 points for a while.
This season he should be healthy heading into training camp and his mind should be as right as it ever will be. Do you think there's any chance we could see flashes of the Tony Allen we once coveted?
With TA we have been disappointed us so many times it is hard to think anything will change.
But contract years are amazing things.
And a revitalized TA would be a great thing as Daniels has been a little injury prone in the past.
Hopefully he makes doubters like myself eat some crow. I will be happy to be wrong on this one
