There's plenty to touch on this morning, with updates available on several different players.
- Kevin Garnett continues to rehab his injured left knee, and according to Doc Rivers via the Globe, he's looking great:
- With the Spurs agreeing to terms with free agent forward Antonio McDyess, it appears they are out of the running for Glen Davis, with Boston and Detroit now serving as the primary candidates.
- The Celtics officially signed Rasheed Wallace yesterday, to a two-year deal with a player option set for a potential third year. A press conference introducing Wallace will be held today at 4:00 p.m. and can be seen on Comcast SportsNet or CSN.com.
The two-year deal is worth $ 5,854,000 for 2009-10 and $6,322,320 for 2010-11. There is a player option for the 2011-12 season at $6,790,640. Wallace earned $13.68 million last season, his last of a five-year contract with Detroit.
- It appears Lester Hudson's stint in the summer league team is now over, as he sustained a broken left index finger in the first half of yesterday's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
- Grant Hill is still flying high on the Celtics' radar, but the free agent forward is courting interest from New York, as well as Phoenix. Hopefully his close relationship with Doc Rivers exudes that of his ties with Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni.
"I can tell you that Grant and I meet a lot,'' Rivers said. "We go out to dinner a lot. I didn't see him play a whole bunch. I was with him the wrong time, but I just know the character and I know who he is. And I think he would be a good fit for any team that's trying to win the title right now - Grant is going to help them.''
- If we're worried about injuries plaguing next year's team, we may have to worry about the young guns before we worry about all the 30-somethings. So far, Hudson (broken finger), J.R. Giddens (dislocated finger), Michael Sweetney (hamstring) and Bill Walker (back spasms) have all suffered various injuries playing in the Orlando Summer League.
- Shaw Marion is now a Dallas Maverick, as another Western Conference team aims to try and dethrone the Lakers.
Stay Tuned.
