A Headline for Every Player on Our Roster...and Glen Davis

By: Greg Payne

Let's see if I can find some sort of headline about each player currently on our roster...

  • Paul Pierce did NOT get dunked on at his Nike Basketball Skills Academy
  • Glen Davis will not participate in Team USA Camp this summer. Also, are sign-and-trade scenarios being examined? Quite possibly...
  • Here's an old school interview with Kevin Garnett, courtesy of SLAM Online. It's a KG interview, so it's always an interesting read, regardless of the time period.
  • I just tried using "Bing" instead of "Google" for my searches. Yeah...Stick with Google.
  • Is anyone else tempted to say Brian Scalabrine will be traded before the halfway mark of next season? These expiring contracts will be more valuable than ever, especially with next summer looming...
  • And while we're on the topic of expiring contracts, Tony Allen has one as well. I Google News-ed TA and the first headline that came up was: Tony Allen - Secret Agent. I naturally assumed Celtic players would automatically come up when I typed their names in...Who knew TA was on the short list to replace Daniel Craig once James Bond reboots itself again in three years...On a positive note, TA is expected to make a full recovery from ankle surgery...
  • The Celtics have until August 1 to pick up Gabe Pruitt's option. Do you think they'll pick it up or look elsewhere for help at the backup point guard position?
  • Let's just say Bill Walker wasn't the only Walker who's worn a Celtics jersey trying to grab headlines the past two days...
  • How did Nick Fazekas end up with a higher scoring average than J.R. Giddens during the Orlando Summer League? How do these things happen? Oh well, Giddens still showed flashes. I think the Giddens/Walker decision is going to be much harder than we all think...
  • Eddie House: Thank you for picking up your player option and not costing us more money. In return, we should sign a quality backup point guard to make your life easier.
  • Lester Hudson's shot at making the team certainly took a hit when he broke the ring finger on his left hand. Do you guys think he'll be on the roster next season? Can we afford to back up Rondo with a rookie, when we can't even rely on Pruitt yet? Or should we just stuff Hudson in the D-League and try and build up some sort of farm system like the Red Sox?
I did it, right? That counts, right? Did I miss anyone?

Stay Tuned.
