Decision on Daniels By the End of the Week

By: Greg Payne

I was actually just thinking to myself, "Hey, Marquis Daniels isn't actually on our roster yet", when I found this from Marc Spears:

The
Boston Celtics and Indiana Pacers will likely decide by the end of the week whether guard Marquis Daniels(notes) will receive Boston’s $1.99 million biannual exception or come to the team via a sign-and-trade deal. A sign-and-trade would allow the Celtics to save their biannual exception and potentially give Daniels a higher salary. Based on salary, Boston guard Tony Allen(notes) could be the best option (he’ll make $2.5 million this season) to go to Indiana in a sign-and-trade.

Now, when he says the end of the week, does he mean the end of the work week (as in today, Friday) or the end of the actual week (as in Sunday)?

Indiana can't possibly be that stupid, right? Surely they won't take on arguably our worst player in exchange for a more versatile and more efficient wing player we can sorely use to help bolster our bench? Hey, maybe Larry's just doing us a solid. We'll have to see.

Stay Tuned.
